Heather Maranda started tattooing in 2007 and over the last 10 years has worked tirelessly to learn and master the craft.
She started by teaching herself and in November 2007 she opened Epic: Stories in Skin tattoo shop in Haines City, FL. After three years, she decided to branch out and closed her shop so she could travel more, and do the convention circuit. She left Florida in 2011 for Casper, WY to work with her friend Chris"Kool-Aid" Smith, who owns Sparxworx Tattoo. During that time, she was recruited to be on a TV show called "Epic Ink" by Chris 51 from Springfield, Oregon. After filming, she moved her family again from Wyoming to Oregon to work at Area 51, the shop where "Epic Ink" was based. After a few years of stagnating, Heather decided she had to follow her heart and guts, and teamed up with some of her best friends and clients to found and start OATFA. Heather feels that her calling is in teaching others, and coming from a family of teachers, it seems to be the right fit. Heather is available to tattoo by appointment only.
